Best Product I've Ever Been Guilted Into Buying!!
About 6 years ago, I was about as broke as broke can get. My coworker, who was constantly selling things through Pampered Chef and Avon and anything else that came her way, was approaching everyone at work and trying to either push them to buy something or guilt them about not helping support her.Cutting out the long story I'll get to the item.I cook all kinds of things in here. Frozen veggies usually come in a large bag that you have to portion out and when your single, that's a small portion to really feel cooking it on the stove or in the oven. So I throw it in this thing and pour in a little water. The container helps to steam and evenly cook veggies, thaw frozen fruits, cook rice in(which I was really terrible at to begin with).As I type I'm waiting for my noodles to finish in it. I'm making a single serving of Shells and Cheese, I just put a handful of uncooked noodles and some water, throw it in the microwave for 12 minutes(stirring every 4 minutes or so). When the noodles are cooked I drain them. Toss in some velveeta and a touch of milk and I'll be eating Shells and Cheese with minimal effortAnd when I'm done, I'll toss it in the dishwasher.It's also quite helpful when you have company over and don't have enough room to cook veggies or potatoes(mashed or whole) or whatever on the stove(or if you just don't have enough pots and pans to do this either).Okay, so this ended up being chilimac, still pretty good!

This is the third microwavable rice cooker I’ve had over many years. I have also had stand alone electric rice cookers/steamers. I much prefer this type cooker because of its convenience. Storage is not a problem, either. It doesn’t take up as much room as its electrical appliance counterpart. This cooker can also be used to reheat almost anything. Highly recommend!

My husband had a rice cooker but it took up space on the counter. This you prepare the same way but put in the microwave. It’s perfect every time. I love it! I’ve tried it with white rice, basmati rice, jasmine rice and it all works. I don’t think wild rice would work because the process is a little different. Very easy clean up. Do not put in dishwasher.

When it arrived, it was so close to Christmas that I just wrapped it in shipping packaging - since it was a gift for my daughter. When she opened it Christmas Day, it was a batter bowl - not the rice cooker I had ordered. She was gracious enough to say that it was OK. She would accept it rather than go through the hassle of returning it. Next time I attend a pampered chef party, I will order her a rice cooker. Will not attempt to order online again.

I owned the identical size and from the same manufacture, rice cooker and used it for over 25 years with no problems. We eat rice many times a week and it was still serving us well when it met an untimely death at my hands. I left it sitting too close to an open fire and the side melted. But for that accident, I would not be writing this review. These are industrial strength rice cookers. My son, who is a professional chef, has gone through 3 rice cookers in the past 12 years. He always wanted the identical make and model as this this rice cooker, knowing ours had been around his entire childhood and a portion of his adulthood. He's getting this same model for his wedding anniversary in December. There are not enough superlatives to describe my feelings about the easiness of use and the quality of construction of this rice cooker. I'm sure the cooker will be around when I'm gone!

I bought this same Chef Rice Cooker years ago and missed it terribly when I lost it during my move. I shopped for a new rice cooker but went back to this make and model because I knew it worked so well. Rice turned out perfect every time. I only gave it 4 stars because the rice you buy in large bags and/or plastic containers that are natural do not cook thoroughly and the rice is still crispy. With that said, I've never been able to cook these varieties of rice anyway, only the Far East flavored box rices. It may just me!

This rice cooker works fine but I don't see any major advantage with it, especially if you eat rice often. The size doesn't really allow you to cook a lot of rice and you don't save any time. In fact if you use more than one type of rice, e.g. brown and white, or buy a different brand you need to read the directions to see how to microwave it. Many brands (from Asian stores) don't even include microwave directions so you are guessing.The clean-up is faster I guess but not that much.

Perhaps it is because we eat rice almost every day in our house that I don't see the value of this product. I imagine for someone who doesn't consume that much rice that it would work out better for them.
